Shape S Style Tip: Make a Don’t a Do
Oh, the shock and awe! Tapered and cut off at the ankle? Talk about two fashion sins rolled into one. Before you go committing any style violations, there is a surefire defense for trouser-related crimes against chic. An S can rock pants just like any other shape, be they bootcut, flared or ankle grazing. The important feature to highlight is the natural S curve of the hips. Choosing silhouettes with a thicker band that sit lower on the waist will flatter you by accentuating the smallest part of your figure.
Ankle pants can veer into Munchkin Land territory, so look for a pair with a straighter leg such as MICHAEL Michael Kors’ Cotton Twill Ankle Pant, whose tailoring will keep you out of the Lollipop Guild. A slight crease elongates the leg as a slight flare at the hem distracts from any hint of flood-preparedness. For a classic look, add a crisp white button-down shirt and a pair of pointy flats (or sky-high heels if you’re a more petite S).
The Edwardian period ended ages ago, so don’t be afraid to show a little ankle.

Will you plese consider doing more diversification with your A-shaped suggestions. I’m a size 12, and despite all my efforts at the gym, my hips are about 2 inches larger than the usual 38-33-41 dimensions. I have had trouble finding ensembles on your site: the selection is usually very limited and focuses heavily on tops. In fact,I find LOTS of tops, and I’m tired of seeing black boot-cut slacks paired with everything. I’m not obese, and I can rock a flattering S-cut dress. (Your dress selection, by the way, is GREAT this spring. I”ll be ordering some this weekend.) I’d buy a skirt from you, but you only list 2 in my personal shop (when you have them). I’ve placed MANY orders through you over the past year, but often have to go outside of my personal shop to find things (which usually fit nicely). I haven’t visited you in a while because I’m getting tired of seeing the limited choices for A-shapes, and feel I’m being chastised for buying outside my personal shop (the cards in my order and the comments when I DO return something… and now, a warning when I place my order, as well). The site is called MyShape, so how about considering MY shape, and not just the H,M,S, and Ys.
Thanks
